Schiit has a nice hefty linear power supply, line regulation is on every voltage rail.The Lyr 3 is the better amp overall. More engaging and addictive to listen to. The Jot is more aggressive and intense, a good amp but not quite like the Lyr 3 in general. Also, Schiit covered the import duties for some reason. Maybe as a Christmas present or because of the patient waiting for Lyr 3. Either way, excellent customer service! If memory serves correctly, this is my 9th piece of Schiit and needless to say they’ve got a customer for life.

And no balanced won't help, I fed it with Bifrost 2 and used balanced out. It's very much a chip sounding amp. It's nicely built has a sick pot and all the balanced connections are great. As I said in the other thread, my current dac/amp, an FX-Audio DAC X6MKII (wonderful naming scheme), has bitten it's own tail and died. I am currently using a set of Shure 440's until I find something more comfortable.
